OUR HISTORY
More than 75
years of experience in the espresso coffee machines constructionOur
company history starts in 1926 when Mr Brugnetti established our first
operation under the name of
Aurora.
The company was specifically created to develop and produce professional
coffee machines. Significant market development and segmentation
encouraged the company to evaluate and subsequently manufacture
icemakers, juice extractors, milk shakers and other catering equipment.
Accordingly, in 1947, to better reflect it's greater sphere of
activities, the company was renamed
Elettrotecnica
Brugnetti.The
50's and 60's saw quantum leaps in the evolution of espresso coffee
machines as mechanical levers were replaced by electro mechanical and
automatic systems for group head operating. Again, the company undergoes
significant re-structuring to accommodate these market changes. In the
early 60's, as one of the industry's most proactive R&D individuals, Mr
Brugnetti designed a unique group head incorporating elements of the
‘New Technology' appearing on the market. Utilising a volumetric pump,
he was able to achieve the high pressures required to make superb
espresso. Further development saw the replacement of mechanical valves
with electronic valves allowing for the first completely electronic
machine systems.
In the ‘80s, the concept of producing a domestic machine with a
professional group head was developed into the first Brugnetti ‘home'
machine capable of making Caffe Bar quality espresso coffees. As part of
the Brugnetti business philosophy of continuous development, the ‘90s
saw the first domestic machine with portion or dosing control. Initially
using a mechanical system, this very quickly evolved into an electronic
format. This paved the way for further growth into the ‘Bean to Cup'
machine sector,.. launched under the ‘Amica' brand and utilising
patented technology. Commencing in 2000, the new millennium saw the
launch of the
Alexia
machine project. State of the art technology, coupled with totally new
materials, consumer driven ergonomics and ‘outside the box' concept
thinking heralded the launch in 2004 of the first Alexia unit. To-date,
the Alexia is the most successful machine Brugnetti have yet produced.
